Depending on your needs. 768 everything is fine, but 3 Mbps can be good when "sharing" your connection - namely, a home network with more than one computer connected to the Internet instead. The higher speed is useful if you have a lot or a video or listening to music from the Internet (see) video or music via your Internet connection.

3.0mpbs is more than a movie to download (about 4 gigabytes), if you want to surf and receive e-mails or play games. 768 should be sufficient. 3 Mbit / s is for people who download gigabytes of things every day.
